"The brew of this tea gets a rich autumn brown the first steep, but does not get near to the bitter near black brew of some other black teas. Rather, it blooms into a lovely dark reddish amber, then lightens to a clearer golden color after several steepings. It has a somewhat yeasty bread-like aroma in the cup (that seems almost savory), with overtones of caramel, and those flavors are joined with subtle notes of fruit and spices (nutmeg? oriental five spice?) when finally tasted. It also has a velvety mouthfeel that coats the tongue without feeling heavy. It is flavor-rich and lasts through steeping (for me) the entire day.
I love this tea. There isn't a tea out there with quite the same flavor profile; it is unique from leaf to brew. I would urge those who are on the fence about it to take a leap and try it at least once. I almost didn't order but am glad I did."

"I am new to tea tasting and reviewing, but I do have to say that after trying quite a few variaties of ML, this is sos far my favorite black tea. It has a unique flavor profile, which is not always suited for any time of the day, but for evenings and after dinner, it is the best. Strong flavor and full body. Highly recommend"

"This is one good Golden Monkey although it is not the best. I have had better tasting Golden Monkey from other tea merchants online. This one is pretty decent although the flavor is not as full as others I have tried. With that said, overall the tea is a flavorful brew and worth purchasing."
