Mighty Leaf Tea Ratings and Reviews

Customer Reviews for Kenyan Sunrise

Kenyan Sunrise

Kenyan Sunrise black tea, grown in the Kenya Highlands of Africa, brews up a robust cup with a malty, fruit aroma and full bodied taste.  The golden tipped leaves yield a pure black tea flavor and a long, smooth finish.  A perfect breakfast tea, this Kenyan black tea pairs well with milk and sugar.     • 4 oz. loose tea in bag     • 1 rounded tsp. per 12 oz. cup     • Makes 35-40 cups

Pros: Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality
"This tea is delightful! I wanted an 'every day' tea - nothing fruity or herbal - just a nice tea. I bought this in hopes of finding something resembling what I was used to from the grocery, but more robust.
I was not disappointed!"

Finally, it's back on my shelves

Date:April 10, 2013
Pros: Great Aroma, Unique Flavor Profile
"I originally bought Kenyan Sunrise last year, and when I ran out I kept getting caught up in other orders and trying other teas, so I went without it for sometime. Then finally, I saw it on sale again and thought, 'I need to get me some of that". So I did. Boy, did I miss this little gem. It is stronger than the teas that I have been drinking lately. So much so that my first brew from the new batch was just way too strong and bitter and I threw it out. But that was because I had been used to using more leaves per brew than this tea requires. So I cut the amount in half and it was excellent. Strong, with a slight astringency, almost a smoky flavor. This is a great tea for getting going in the morning. This will certainly be one that I order frequently. I wonder what this would taste like iced. I may have to try it out."

A Wonderful Tea

Date:July 27, 2012
Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile
"As a rule of thumb, I tend to drink Earl Grey in the mornings, usually with the traditional milk and sugar. However, some time ago, I came across the Kenyan Sunrise tea in a restaurant and on a whim, I gave it a try.
This is one of the most wonderful, full-bodied, and RICH teas that I have ever tasted. As opposed to the Earl Grey which I drink with milk and sugar, this tea, I can drink straight up.
This is quite unlike any other tea that I've tasted and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for something bold and different to try."

Very nice first purchase

Date:July 22, 2010
Pros: Great Aroma, Smooth Body, Whole Leaf Tea, economical
"After hearing so much about the benefits of whole leaf tea and the shameful nature of traditional store bought tea bags, I thought I would invest in a proper tea pot and some loose leaf tea. While my likes are as varied as the products available on this website, I choose this tea because of the value and my need for a caffeine source. I'm very happy with my purchase. I've made strong and weak teas with this leaf (on purpose) and both are flavored nicely. Its quite economical since a weak tea still packs quite a punch in the morning. It makes a terrific iced tea, my kids and I went through the half gallon I made in under 2 hours."

Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile, Whole Leaf Tea
"I am new to loose leaf tea, so I don't have much to compare this to, but this stuff is fantastic. It has a citrusy aroma and taste. I drink it with milk and honey or sugar and it seems to hold its own pretty well."

Nice Morning Tea

Date:December 10, 2009
Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile
"I alternate between this tea, Black Gold and Organic Breakfast as my breakfast teas. Kenyan Sunrise has the lightest body of all of them and is very fruity is flavor. I really like its flavor and aroma. This tea is a keeper. I can also see someone drinking it as a late morning or afternoon tea"
