Organic Nilgiri FOP Green Tea Decaf is made with decaffeinated green tea from the esteemed Korakundah estate in the Niligiri Mountains of southern India. This green tea from Korakundah, the highest tea estate in the world located at 8,000 feet leaves with unique muted green color, a deep golden liquor, and produces a rich, savory cup with a slightly astringent finish.     • 4 oz. loose tea in bag     • 1 rounded tbsp. per 12 oz. cup     • 4 oz bag makes 25-30 cups

Pros: High Quality, Whole Leaf Tea
"Bulk organic decaf green tea is very hard to find. I've tried a few that I have found online from various places, and this is the best one. The taste and color are good (but not extraordinary), and it meets my specs for an all-day drink. The taste does not suffer from an the extra-long steep that I do. After satisfying myself that this is the best one I could find, I bought a pound because I drink a lot of it every day. Until I find a bulk organic decaf Japanese green sencha (and I'm not holding my breath), this is it. Every product I've ordered from Mighty Leaf has been fresh, and I appreciate that. (some places sell stale product). Also a good value."

"Pretty strong fishy aroma, surprised because I've enjoyed other Nilgiri before. Thankfully my colleague enjoys it so it's not going to waste."

Just don't like

"I can't really put my finger on it, but I just don't like this tea. The scent is off from other green teas. Meaning I can tell that it is related to other green teas, but not how it is. The only way I've been able to drink it is ice brewed with a lot of lemon juice.
I'm torn between throwing it out and soldiering through because if even half of the research on EGCG is true, then I'd be throwing away a nice compound.
I've pretty much just decided to go with the lovely Mighty Leaf Mint Melange or Chocolate Mint Truffle for my no-caffeine tea."

Bad purchase

Cons: terrible smell
"Let me say that Mighty leaf is a great tea company.
That having been said this is the worst tea I have ever had. I could not finish the first cup and ended up throwing it all away. This tea even smells bad. Maybe I got a bad batch. I would never try it again."

"I am enjoying a cup now. It is smooth and you can make it stronger or lighter depending on your taste preference. I like earthy but some green teas are a little too grounded. This one is just right for me."

Good Decaf Tea for Everyday Drinking

"With some care, you can get nice brews from this tea -- good flavor without the bitter taste. Make sure to keep temperature low (no higher than 170F) and steep for no more than 5 minutes. A second brewing seems to produce okay result if you keep the temperature even lower (150F or less) and leave entire bag in for a long time. My wife and I use this tea as the base for all kinds of iced drinks, as iced tea or just to give a hint of tea. To make perfect iced tea, add a lemon, a few pumps of pure cane syrup, some ice, and shake real hard. You will love it all day long."
