"Thee tins do not seal, so you cannot store tea in them. Considering that this site sells mainly tea I assumed they would seal tightly. My mistake."

"Has a nice-fitting lid. Snug, but not impossible to get on & off. I've been putting my 4-ounce bags in there sealed (with a bit of folding when they're new), but you could dump out your tea in there no problem. They're bigger than they look, and would probably hold at least 8 ounces of loose tea out of the bag."

"We drink a lot of tea, and have several loose varieties. This is a great tin; I can use my label maker to indicate which tea is inside. The lid fits tight---a good thing---but sometimes is a bit difficult to lift off. Still, I'd rather that than a loose fit allowing air to degrade the tea."

"These tins seem much bigger in real life! They are pretty big and well made. The lids tightly seal over the top.
The bad news is that they were not packaged properly, with the tins being wedged to the side of the box with a plastic air bag. Most of them were dented on arrival. Fortunately, dents don't really hurt this type of container (unlike the excellent Japanese Loose Tea Storage Tin. It does NOT like dents)."

"These things are huge! I'm a tea addict I'll admit it right now. These sleek, airtight tins allow me to store months of tea and keep it fresh until the last leaf is brewed. How airtight are they? I have a tin filled with Earl Grey with Bergamot. I can't smell a thing until I take the lid off. Then that wonderful aroma wafts into the air from the inside of the tin.
They also take labels nicely. I would suggest wiping the side of the tin to be labelled with an alcohol pad to remove any fingerprints, loose dust, etc. Dry with a lint free cloth or paper towel. Otherwise, easy peasy.
The silver ones have the look of brushed steel. Very shiny and attractive on the shelf."

"For those of you thinking about using this to store loose tea, please note that it is NOT airtight. I emailed mighty leaf about this, and they confirmed that the container would keep the tea fresh for many months, but not the year+ of storage you get from the sealable bag they send their tea in.
The container looks great, for sure, but if you don't drunk a cup a day the tea won't stay fresh for as long as you'd need it to."

"A good price for a "tin." Not air-tight best I can tell, but functional. They didn't have the black in stock, but I hear it's coming back. I'd like them better if they had an interior plastic "lid" to keep all the flavor and freshness that that Mighty-Leaf tea deserves. Big enough to store a full pound. Too large for the 4 oz bag of lose tea. Great for storing tea bags!"

"These tins are great for storing a pound of loose leaf black tea. I also put several smaller sized tea pouches inside one tin. The silver is a very nice color and for the price you can get a whole set and put them in a row on a shelf. (They don't stack very well.) You could store sugar or anything in them. I also just peel the label off the loose tea bag and put it on the tin, so I know what's inside."

"This tin fits my size requirements perfectly. I've had up to 8 oz. in them. I like it for the large airy tea's since they take up more space. I keep my tea's in a drawer and these are just the right height. The price is great. They are not as firm as some of the round tins I have but they do what I require. The lids seal tightly but are not hard to remove. Of medium quality I'd say. If you have small hands check the measurements. They are almost to wide for my hands. They are just what I was looking for."
