Pinhead Gunpowder
A popular green tea from China, Pinhead Gunpowder green tea cosists of green tea leaves rolled into small pearls that unfurl before your eyes. Bursting with energy they resemble pellets of gunpowder. Slightly roasted, smoky and astringent in character, this is a classic Chinese green tea cup.

"This tea has a slightly nutty taste that makes it different from certain other kinds of green tea I have had. I would recommend this product to someone who is trying out quality green tea for the first time.
This tea will become bitter if over brewed even if its just a little over the brewing time. I recommend steeping for a little less than 3 minutes."

"It's always fun to watch the pearls unfurl, but it's the unique flavor that I love the most. Not only is this a great tea but it makes a dynamite green tea ice cream! Not a good tea for a second brewing nor should it steep too long. It gets bitter quicker than most green teas."

"I originally got this tea for 2 reasons. One, because I heard 'gunpowder' tea was the most bitter and hardest to drink. I love challenges. Two, because it's called 'GUNPOWDER' tea, how badass is that!
I was pleasantly surprised that it was not bitter or hard to drink at all. It was smokey, but not in an overpowering way whatsoever. I drink mine straight and I love it. The only thing that sucks is that they only offer this as a loose leaf tea, but I think that is probably because the tea needs room to unfurl when it is steeped."

"I read a previous review that declared this a "man's tea". LOL. At the risk of sounding sexist, I actually agree with the review. Like most Gunpowder green, this has a bold taste, but it doen't get bitter quickly (even after extensinve steeping). Strong taste, bit smoky. Recommend for those who usually let their green steep for a while because they like a stronger flavor."

"I drink a lot of green tea, and have probably tried 15 different kinds in the past few years. This is my favorite. Great flavor. Leaves are good for multiple infusions. Plus since the leaves are rolled up they sink to the bottom of the cup, so if you're lazy like me and just put the water in the mug with the leaves you don't have to worry about drinking the leaves too."

"Great aroma, beautiful color, smooth taste. This tea isn't as strong as the Dragonwell, if you were turned off by that. Just be careful when brewing because you only need maybe half the amount of leaves compared to the other loose leaved teas, since they are rolled into balls. The good thing about that is this tea lasts a long time since you don't need many leaves for brewing."
