Customer Reviews for Lychee

Lychee

Lychee black tea from China is scented with exotic lychee fruit that yields a full-bodied, sweet and slightly fruity cup. The unique perfumed flavor of the lychee fruit paired with fine China black tea results in a distinct uplifting taste.     • 4 oz. loose tea in bag     • 1 rounded tsp. per 12 oz. cup     • Makes 35-40 cups

Great for iced tea!

Date:April 16, 2013
Pros: High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile, great for iced tea
Cons: Weak
"I used this to make iced tea after having had a delicious iced lychee tea at a restaurant in California. Since I'm in New Jersey, I had to figure out how to make it at home, and Mighty Leaf's lychee tea made it possible! The results were delicious!"

"This tea had very little flavor. I have been searching for a good Lychee tea since my old company stopped selling teas (only coffee). This was not it."

Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality
"Subtle lychee flavor in this tea compliments rather than overpowers the brew; I really like it and think it would make an excellent iced tea, as a longer darker steep would hold up to diluting and sweeteners quite well. I'm not overly fond of heavily perfumed or flavored teas, and think this one hits the sweet spot of having the fruit aroma while still letting the tea itself shine. It has a classic China black tea flavor, with strong tannins, but the fruit aroma is still there in its wake. It definitely doesn't resemble - or try to be like - eating a piece of fruit - and I am glad of that. Rather, it is a well-balanced scented black brew."

I love lychee!

Date:December 26, 2011
Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile
"The first time I had this tea was upon receiving it as a gift. My friend knew that I loved lychee and thought that I might like this tea. I've since purchased it on my own because this tea truly embodies the lychee flavor. It's delicious and I'd highly recommend it."

Lychee is one of my "faves!"

Date:December 5, 2011
Pros: Great Aroma, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile
Cons: Prefer Tea Pouches
"Both my picky twenty year old son and I are enjoying this new addition to our household. It is smooth and naturally sweet enough that neither of us feel the need to add any honey or, God forbid, sugar. I can't wait to use this for making sun tea when the weather gets warmer. It will be even better when kissed by the sun!"

Rare Find

Pros: Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Whole Leaf Tea, Unique Flavor Profile
"I was excited to find that ML offered a lychee black tea, since the tea house in San Francisco where I used to buy it went out of business a couple of years ago, and I haven't seen it for sale anywhere else. ML's version is delicious and just what I was hoping for."

Too much perfume?

Date:May 3, 2011
Pros: Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile, bright, subtle sweetness, uplifting
Cons: too much perfume, needs more fruit flavor
"This tea is delicately sweet, while also being bright and fruity. I do enjoy it, but when I first opened the bag, the aroma had too much of a perfume scent about it, and was a little disconcerting. This perfume lessened a bit after brewing, but others who are not used to aromatic teas might be turned off.
Also, while being softly sweet, I didn't get very much lychee flavor. I think some dried fruit pieces would help.
I think this would make a refreshing iced tea, though I haven't tried it yet. Time to experiment!"

Pros: Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile
"Tea (black or green) with lychee is very hard to find. I have been addicted for many years to this subtle flavor. So happy I have found Mighty Leaf - for many reasons, but specifically for their wonderful lychee tea. I often crave it for breakfast and throughout the day!"

Finally Lychee!

Date:December 28, 2009
Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile
"Lychee has always been my favorite fruit, and Mighty Leaf, my favorite tea. I'm so glad Mighty Leaf has come out with this tea. The lychee flavor is subtle, not too sweet making it my favorite tea! I hope they decide to make it in bag form."

Still undecided

Date:March 11, 2009
Pros: Unique Flavor Profile
Cons: Weak, boring flavor
"I'm still unsure about this flavor of tea. I've just recently been introduced to Lychee fruit and quite enjoyed the sweet taste. When I first opened the bag, I didn't get a whiff of a sweet fruit, but rather a smell resembling "paint". After brewing, the smell didn't improve and at least expected a strong taste of sweet Lychee. This wasn't the case, I couldn't even taste a hint of Lychee fruit. This flavor might have done better, had there been actual dried Lychee fruit mixed in with the black tea to enhance the flavor even more. The tea was still satisfying, but I'm unsure if it's something I'd add to my tea collection. I'll have to brew one more cup to decide."
