A green tea from Japan, Organic Karigane is a highly prized twig green tea made in a traditional Japanese Kukicha style. Our Organic Karigane green tea consists of stems and stalks that remain after making reserve Gyokuro green teas. With a fresh green aroma, the flavor is uniquely sweet and delicate.  Please note in our brewing instructions that the ideal brewing temperature for this delicate green tea is 160F. Loose tea in 4 oz. bag

Good but a bit expensive

"I like this Kukicha-like tea. I have made it my everyday test for the past few months. It has a slightly sweeter note than Kukicha which makes it unique. Do not brew it with water above 160F or it will be bitter. It is a bit expensive and I wish it were offered in larger amounts with a discount."

"This tea is like a hug in a cup. It's almost creamy and has the most beautiful aroma. For anyone who loves Gyokuro but balks at the price this is the tea for you! The flavor is just as wonderful and it's good for multiple steepings. I brew mine at around 195 but for only 30 seconds."

"I would not order this again. I have loved all 10-12 varieties of ML that I have tried but this one is weak, a strange sweet to it and not like the twig tea (Organic choice is by far the best) that I think of as twig tea."
