A guilt-free indulgence

Date:October 2, 2008
Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile, Whole Leaf Tea
"This is the tea that actually makes me look forward to getting up in the morning. Taking it to work and relishing each indulgent sip in the presence of colleagues gives the same sort of pleasure one might derive from wearing red underwear, or cashmere socks."

Very nice - doesn't need (but handles) sugar

Date:March 2, 2012
Pros: Great Aroma, Smooth Body, Whole Leaf Tea, Unique Flavor Profile
"Liquor: light reddish-brown (I think the orange lightens it up a little). Smell: very nice. The orange comes through in both dry and brewed forms. Taste: smooth, well blended, and the orange comes through. Does not need sugar (which is part of why I like this one)."

Yum

Date:January 9, 2012
Pros: Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Whole Leaf Tea, yummy
"This is good. You can't, or I can't, get the real effect from it until it's sweetened (I use a pinch of stevia); but, oh when you do. It's just good. I'm glad too because I had tried the mint chocolate one assuming it would be great, since I've always liked that combination in desserts - but it just isn't good."

It used to be delicious

Date:October 6, 2011
Cons: Bitter, disgusting
"I loved the flavor of this tea and looked forward to drinking it every morning. Recently I ordered two bags of it and the flavor is nothing like it used to be. It's like they forgot to add the chocolate flavoring. Now I've got in my possession two bags of really disgusting tea. I wish I could drink the tea I love. But I guess those happy days were short lived and are now over. I'm not sure I'll order anything else from ML since I can't trust the quality control."

Converted me to a tea drinker!

Date:September 22, 2011
Pros: Great Aroma, Smooth Body, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile
Cons: Prefer Tea Pouches
"I haven't had coffee for over a week because of this tea. Makes a spectacular milk tea...absolutely delicious. I think the only "negative" is that the tea is a little weak, so I find myself using a lot more leaf in order to give it a more robust flavor. But I look forward to it every morning and enjoy it very much. I do wish they make a tea-pouch version of this tea, for convenience."

Not as good as other chocolate varieties

Date:August 26, 2010
Pros: Smooth Body, Whole Leaf Tea
Cons: Flat
"This tea doesn't have as deep flavor as most of the Mighty Leaf chocolate varieties. Not much orange taste either."

Very matte like, no orange flavor

Date:May 21, 2010
"It's tasty, but I taste NO orange. Very much like a matte, only a bit more chocolaty of course.
If you like the chocolate notes of matte, you'd love this tea.

pretty yummy

"This tea flavor is tasty, just wish it had a heavier note of chocolate. Will turn bitter if made too strong or over-brewed."

Okay, but not my favorite.

Date:January 25, 2010
Pros: Great Aroma
Cons: Bitter, Weak
"The aroma of this tea is wonderful, but I think the flavor is a little weak overall. I've enjoyed chocolate teas before, and I thought the chocolate flavor of this one was quite weak, almost a little chalky. Additionally, I wasn't impressed with the orange flavor. While I could smell it, I found it difficult to taste. I was hoping for a much stronger, fuller tasting tea."

Wonderul chocolate flavor without being weird

Date:December 29, 2009
Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality, Smooth Body, Unique Flavor Profile, Whole Leaf Tea
"I normally don't like chocolate teas but my husband loves them. So I bought it as a gift and we both love it. The chocolate and orange flavors are distinct but not overpowering. Brewed tea is very smooth and the flavors blend nicely."

"I have tried different chocolate teas and have always been disappointed, but I thought I would try the Chocolate Orange Truffle tea from ML because they always have the best tea. I was very pleasantly surprised, I love it and my daughter tried it and will be ordering it also."

Just okay

Date:October 23, 2009
Pros: Great Aroma
Cons: Flat, Tasteless
"This is a pleasant tea, but the chocolate taste is almost absent and the orange is just a hint. Having tried several of the other Mighty Leaf flavoured teas, I expected the taste to be more obvious. To me, this tea tastes quite a bit like the Vanilla Bean Tea. I will try steeping at a higher temperature in the hopes that the taste will improve."

Hanging In Shades The Orange Bright...

Date:March 5, 2009
Pros: Great Aroma, High Quality, Unique Flavor Profile, Whole Leaf Tea, excellent balance
"This was the last of four flavors I tasted in a Chocolate Truffle Tea Mini-Tin Gift Assortment I bought on-sale early this week at my local Whole Foods and, in this instance, I proved to save the very best for last, in terms of my taste buds' opinions! =)
Where I feel several other black dessert teas like the Orange Dulce and the Pear Caramel Truffle fall short in serving to their full dessert tea potential, and come off too strongly as overly robust Ceylon teas, this tea gloriously stands out as a fine dessert tea. Effortlessly you can smell the Madagascar vanilla and teasing hints of capricious citrus the very moment you pour boiling water into your teapot and the steam rises from under the lid, but more importantly, where aromas can be unfortunately deceptive on occasion and eventually lead to tastings that don't live up to their aromatic bacchanalia, this tea doesn't fail to captivate you thoroughly from beginning to end.
While a light splash of milk will help accent the cacao/orange matrimony of this tea closer to the creamy dessert as we appreciate it, it tastes beautifully well-rounded even without an added sweetener or cream. The citrus notes are just as prominent in each sip as the signature brawny taste of Ceylon and China tea, which I think the vanilla is what helps this tea achieve its yin-yang balance. In fact, I think it not only makes an exceptional dessert tea; it makes an exceptional perk-me-up morning tea as well. =)
This is undoubtedly one of my two favorite Mighty Leaf Chocolate Truffle Teas, and anyone expecting a Chocolate Truffle Tea to live up to its name will not be disappointed this go-around! It's as close to comfort food in the form of a cup of tea as you will get! ^__^"
